Red Hot Chili Peppers es una banda de funk rock estadounidense formada en 1983 en Los Ángeles, California. Sus integrantes son el vocalista Anthony Kiedis, el guitarrista Josh Klinghoffer, el bajista Michael "Flea" Balzary, el batería Chad Smith.

Hillel Slovak fue el guitarrista original y fundador de la banda de funk rock Red Hot Chili Peppers, con la que grabó los álbumes Freaky Styley y The Uplift Mofo Party Plan. Murió el 25 de junio de 1988 debido a una sobredosis de heroína.
